The Drought of 2010
The island of the Philippines, a little more than 6 months ago was UNDER water. Lives lost. Homes and food gone. Now in 2010, is the opposite. The Philippines are under a serious drought. They have had no rain since January, and here it is toward the end of June. Almost everyday, the towns experience either brown out or black out because their power source is hydro-electricity. Livlihoods are again being crippled and the consquences of limited or no electricity take their toil in the homes and business of the people. Crops of rice, corn and vegetables can not and will not grow, nor can some be planted because of the lack of water. Wells are completely dried up, for both homesteads and churches. Life is very hard. Please consider a gift today toward these people to help sustain their lives, function normally and further the Kingdom of God. And please pray for their land and this whole earth to be healed by the Lord. It is without doubt that this earth is heaving painfully with enviromental stress. We must do our part to slow down, stop and correct the years of damage we have caused our earth, We must, as a whole, repent and turn from our wicked ways and petition the Lord to heal our lands. For we ALL, everywhere, are suffering from it. We must, hold each other up and help where we can. We live on one earth. We have but One God. We are, but one people. It is time for us all to band together.
Consider a Monthly Pledge
Typhoons, droughts, earthquakes and so on.....all are acts of nature that we have no control over. No amount of diligence on our part can remedy these things from happening. But what we can do is hold hands with each other and help each other weather the storms of life. Please consider a monthly pledge to the people of the Philiipines as they rebuild from the devastation of typhoons, struggle through the dryness of drought and maintain their livlihood. Any amount given to these people would be appreciated, and is tax deductible. See our link page for details.
